I’m Amit Gadhavi, a data and AI architect with 17+ years of building enterprise data platforms across energy and utilities, aerospace, pharma, manufacturing, retail and finance.
Most of my work has been hands-on: designing pipelines, machine learning, platform architecture, master data and governance on Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure and GCP. Lately I spend a lot of time on AI – RAG apps, AI agents, semantic layers and MCP servers that connect AI tools to real enterprise data.
This blog is where I write up what I build. Every post comes from something I actually tried, with the code, the mistakes and what I’d do differently.
Why “Athanor”?
An athanor was the furnace medieval alchemists used for the “great work” — slowly turning base metal into gold. Modern data teams do the same thing in layers: raw data becomes clean data, and clean data becomes something the business can trust. Bronze, silver, gold.
